Code of Ethics
Caritas Somalia is guided by a strong ethical framework rooted in Catholic social teaching, respect for human dignity, and a preferential option for the poor and the most vulnerable.
The Code of Ethics defines the core values, principles, and standards of conduct that guide the behaviour of staff, volunteers, partners, and governing bodies across all activities. It promotes integrity, accountability, impartiality, safeguarding, and responsible stewardship of resources.
This document reflects Caritas Somalia’s commitment to ethical humanitarian action and alignment with the standards of the Caritas Internationalis Confederation.
Code of Conduct
Caritas Somalia expects all staff, consultants, volunteers, and representatives to uphold the highest standards of personal and professional behaviour in line with the organization’s mission, values, and ethical commitments.
The Code of Conduct sets out the attitudes, responsibilities, and behavioural standards required to protect the dignity, safety, and rights of the people we serve, our colleagues, and the organisation. It covers key areas such as safeguarding, integrity, respect, accountability, conflict of interest, and responsible use of resources.
This document reinforces Caritas Somalia’s zero-tolerance approach to abuse, exploitation, corruption, and misconduct, and provides clear guidance on expected conduct and reporting obligations.
